Await the announcement

I write this with impending news to break this week, we have all waited patiently over the last few months for this announcement – whether it meets what we want or not … we all like airing our own views and opinions – we’ve all lived through what could be … and what should be. Our colleagues in the US are lucky, they have gone through change and some are now experiencing the way it should be.

I’m referring to the Apple ipad, the big brother of the iphone …

This week has been quite short and busy, April Fools days fell on Thursday. Fun was had by Google with their Google Maps Street view when it offered (and still does) 3D views of our streets and buildings where are the 3D glasses when you need them? – I hear that some scenes are quite good and where others are just a mix of colours.

The funniest read was a press release from Sophos (a developer and vendor of security software and hardware, including anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam and protector of all that bad stuff that affects your PC/Laptop) that provided a new solution to those who ‘hack’ into your PC to steal you passwords, files and identities. They call it ‘Protection through distraction’, by planting romantic fiction novels on to you PC in an attempt to distract uninvited guests. What’s comical about this is the promotional video:

Emotions run high in regard to whether you are a ‘Apple’ or ‘PC’ person …

I’ve been advised to keep away from a particular product range and that I ‘need’ to buy a particular gadget because it ‘does‘ bluetooth, wifi, some form of high tech transfer interface and may make you a cup of tea too, but I don’t want it to do all that – comparing it to buying Swiss Arm Knife with 85 tools and 110 functions when all I want is a knife with a bottle opener.

Anyway enough of my rant, we all agree – leaders need a strong solid team around them and here’s to looking forward to a great election campaign … and of course to the announcement of the sale of ipad in the UK.
