Being honest is important in ensuring people trust you and that it is maintained. It is much better to open and honest ‚ saying you don’t know the answer but will find out and get back to them rather than leading them up the garden path with what you think is correct only for them to find out later that you have got it wrong. Trust is like hair on your head – once it’s gone – it’s a nightmare to get back.
